A touching modern-day musical about an Irish busker and an immigrant Czech girl who meet, fall in love and make beautiful music together.
Shot for peanuts on the streets of Dublin, Once was a surprise hit in the states and is now wooing audiences in the UK with its effortless Irish charm. Actor Glen Hansguard is the frontman for Irish band the Frames and met the director in an early incarnation of the band. They subsequently worked with each other on The Commitments and together with newcomer Marketa Irglov composed the songs for Once.
Hansgard and Irglov are perfectly matched as love sick singer songwriters and it’s a joy to see the songs evolve and come alive to tell their stories. .
